CHARITY
UPDATE
In January 2009 Hugh (a trustee) and his wife visited the school, they delivered clothes and games equipment. They set up the lunch programme properly through the purchase of additional cooking equipment and working on the menu.
They enjoyed playing games with the children and pleased to see how well the school was running and how happy both teachers and pupils were.

During the year Hugh visited his grand daughters' school and gave a talk on the Bombolulu School of Promise to compliment the class term theme of Africa. The children were really interested, should you be interested in studying Africa please feel free to use the activities in our fun time section of the website.

In June 2009, three young volunteers went out to visit the school following the completion of their university studies. They spent time teaching music, english, arts and crafts to the younger children and science, politics and history to the older children. The ended their visit by hosting party for the children which was great fun for all.

A number of fund raising activities have taken place during the year including talks to local womens' groups and churches - which raised awareness of the charity and raised funds through raffles and donations.

A recent christmas fete was attended in Sompting by Hugh and Mary which raised money through the sale of home made christmas gifts.
