2010

CHARITY

UPDATE

Our main sponsors Euro Car Parks visited the school in April 2010 to see where their money is going. See the visits update for their feedback. They have remained committed to sponsoring us and set up links to enable us to continue educating the older children when they leave our school.

Helen audited the RSPCA local accounts and received a donation to the school.

Friends of the trustees went to visit the school in April 2010 and took new supplies and played with the children.

The year has started with a new intake of 13 new children being admitted into KG1. The fist year we have 8 children in the top class who will be ready to move up to secondary school next year.

Two of our teachers, Pamela & Michael, have just received exam results with both of them passing. The childrens' exams were carried out jointly with another school in the area and one of our pupils, Sheila Nyagaka, came top overall - well done Sheila. The comment from the examiners was that the general performance on the children was average but more effort needed in English, Maths and Kiswahili.

We start 2010 with 11 classes being taught. Hugh went into Aldrington School in Hove UK to help with a lesson on Africa and raised interest and donations.

Christmas Fete was held in Sompting Church UK where we sold hand made christmas cards and christmas gifts.

A local church are knitting clothing and toys to sell on behalf of our charity.
