Paul Furlepa - ChairmanPaul trained as an Accountant and after a career in the Airline and UK Holiday industry, he travelled extensively around the world for almost three years. This provided the opportunity to better understand the inequalities and needs of people throughout the developing nations. A firm believer that education is the only way of making a genuine difference, Paul was delighted to be able to work with the other Trustees in providing a desperately needed resource for the children in Mombasa. | Geoff Webb - TrusteeGeoff is a physicist who specialised throughout his career in safety standards to protect people against radiation. This covered everything from operating nuclear power stations safely to the correct use of x-ray sets in hospitals. He has always travelled widely and in the 1990s was with the United Nations trying to improve safety in developing Countries, especially in Africa, South and Central America. In his spare time, Geoff likes playing in a Samba Band. | Jacqui Furlepa - FounderFollowing post graduate training Jacqui is now employed as a music therapist and works with adults within the field of neurodisability. Prior to this she was the first female member of the Band of the Grenadier Guards based at Wellington Barracks in London, during this time she travelled extensively and continued travelling on her own once leaving the army, it was one of these trips that took her to Kenya for several months where she first became involved in teaching the children from Bombolulu. |

Hugh Bond - TrusteeHugh worked as an optical engineer all his life (making spectacles). He has seen, first hand, the poverty of the 3rd world. Huge believes that if we can educate the children they will have a chance for a better life. | Helen Moore - TreasurerHelen qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant and progressed to being a Finance Director of a large Tour Operator. Helen's love of travel took her on holiday to Kenya where it was clear that there was a distinct double standard between the rich tourist and the humble local. After Jacqui's visit to Kenya and her enthusiasm to set up this charity, Helen was keen to get involved and use her skills to help the children succeed through education. | Pamela Furlepa - TrusteePamela spent 30 years working at a Primary school in Horsham. Having visited the school in Mombasa early on she was keen to assist in the fund raising and promotion of the school. Her extensive experience within the education system means she is able to offer huge amounts of expertise to the charity. |
David Cullen - SponsorDave Cullen CEO of Euro Car Parks visited Kenya on holiday with his wife. He got together with the Trustees and contacted all the staff at Euro Car Parks to see if they would like to donate €1 or €2 per week to help Bombolulu School of Promise provide the vital education and support the children needed. Our thanks go out to Dave Cullen and all the Staff for their kind generosity and continuing support. | Ruth - TeacherRuth joined us in February 2007 to replace Kennedy when he left. Ruth is a qualified teacher who specialises in music, so when Ruth joined the school we purchased an electric piano for her to use. Ruth teaches the older children. | Head Boy & GirlSalim and Florence are head boy and girl of the Bombolulu School. They have helped the teachers look after the children at play time. They often help do jobs around the school like wipe the black boards and welcome visitors. |
